FAQs

  • Do I need to be home for my lawn service?

    • Before beginning treatment, your technician will knock on the door to let you know we’re there. Don’t be afraid to ask your technician any questions you might have about your lawn application. Not home? No problem. We still deliver our lawn care services if you’re on the go. Our lawn care pros will leave a sign in your yard to let you know we were there.

  • Are your products safe?

    • Our lawn care process is based on the science of how your lawn grows best. We are committed to using some of the safest high-quality products in the industry and applying them in the safest manner possible. The products that you have under your kitchen sink are more hazardous than the formulas we apply to your landscape.

  • Why is fertilizer important for my lawn?

    • Lawns require fertilizer to remain healthy and thrive. The key is applying the correct fertilizer at the right time. A well-fertilized lawn will make your lawn healthier and thicker, which will help fight against weeds, drought, and disease. A slow-release nitrogen should be used to prevent excessive upper growth, as the roots are the key to any plant’s survival. The healthier the plant, the better, and fertilizer is a critical component to having a beautiful lawn.

  • When should I expect to see results?

    • Results can vary depending on which of our proven Lawn Patrol programs you choose, the location of your property, and the current condition of your lawn. We typically tell our clients it can take as short as 2 months and up to a full year depending on your situation.

  • How long should my children and pets stay off the lawn after a lawn application?

    • Most of the time it is safe the same day, but please always follow Lawn Patrol’s written instructions left after the application and remain off the treated lawn as advised, or as an extra precaution wait 24-hours.

  • Does Lawn Patrol provide mowing services?

    • No, we do not.

  • Should I mow my lawn before my lawn is treated by the Lawn Patrol?

    • The best time to cut your grass is a few days before an application is applied. Don’t forget – one of the best practices for mowing is to leave some of the clippings on your lawn to recycle moisture and nutrients back into your grass!

  • How long should I wait to mow my awn after an application?

    • We advise waiting at least 48 hours. However, for best results, you should mow your grass any time after the fertilizer has been rained in or watered in.

  • How often should I water my lawn?

    • This depends greatly on the current condition of your property. If you don’t have an in-ground irrigation system, it can be hard to thoroughly water your lawn. If weather is dry, we suggest watering your lawn every 5 days for an hour in each place your sprinkler covers. During a serious drought you need to water your lawn at least every 20 days just to keep the growing point alive. Anytime you water the lawn, you want to water deep and infrequently. This will encourage deep root growth, and by watering 2-3 days apart you will limit leaf disease. If you have an irrigation system, you should water 2-3 days a week, deep and infrequently. During normal conditions, you want to shoot for about 1- 1.5” of simulated rainfall a week.

  • I have dead patches in my lawn what is that and what can I do?

    • The dead patches in your lawn are likely the result of lawn disease, insects or drought damage from past years. Dead grass/thatch should be removed and once the lawn is healthy again, the best thing you can do to fight disease is to mow properly and keep your lawn watered. If you have lawn problems, please feel free to call us for a free diagnosis. DON’T wait until the damage is bad to call us!
